In 1973 the Genealogical library began filming the sheets. If you wanted a copy, you could submit an old request form for a TIB (Temple Index Bureau) and Archive Sheet. These are the names turned in for temple ordinances by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.įor years these sheets were kept in Salt Lake City in the library. The majority of the family group records go back many generations and end prior to the 1500's. This is so exciting to find the families that were turned in by our grandparents from 1942 to 1969. The Family Group Record Collection - Archive Section have been scanned and are found on the Historical Records. Do you remember coming to the Family History Library or the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and looking at rows and rows of black binders filled with family group sheets? The largest section of those collections can be found on your computer.
